Fluval Edge Light Replacement

Hi folks,

I've bought a Fluval Edge aquarium it was initially to house my Beta from my larger tank (he was getting bullied so my friend took him until I had my tank set up) now his wife has bought a second tank to rehome him so was considering making this tank a nano reef time will tell.

The main issue I have is with the lights, they are well, crap. They barely light the tank so was thinking about putting some LED bulbs in. I know that the current halogen ones are M11 but have heard M16 would fit? If I go down the Marine side of things I would like ones that emit enough light to grow plant/coral. I would like the direct replacements because I'm not yet ready to start modding this tank if I don't need to!

I've had a trawl through the forums but didn't want to bump up threads from a few years ago/one that the lights are now outdated/unavailable.

Any help would be great cheers!

The MR 16's will fit ok, I had some in mine

Would you possibly point me in the right direction? I'm not sure on the bulb type I'd need?

I sold my Edge, but I found a couple of spare bulbs if you'd like them for the price of the postage

Did you find they gave your tank enough light? Do you know if they would be suitable for use with a saltwater set up?

I don't know about the salty side, ask on the marine section here.
I found for tropicals they were fine, & my plants did ok too with them

Yes, there's a few sellers on eBay that sell both MR11's & 16's

I think I'll try M11 to begin with, as I can't go back if I use M16 right?

Have a go with the MR11's, see if you like the light, you can always go with the 16's after.

Had a look on ebay, found a lot of LED side lights for cars and LED TV's but not the bulbs I was looking for, am I just being to vague? Was searching "m11 LED bulb"

Try MR11 12SMD Led bulbs.
