Hey guys !

So... I got a New Fluval Duo Extra a month back its still in its box because we cant find a stand !

It is L48" W15" H18" (120cm 40cm 50cm)

I was thinking that a Fluval Duo Deep 1200 stand would do ....

But that tank is only 40cm high where as this one that i have is 50cm high !

Will this make the tank unsuitable jus because the tank is that little bit taller (heavier)

Im really confused !

My mum is also looking for a stand and she keeps going on about like pine cabinet/chest of drawer type things !

As the tank is 240litres (54 uk gallons)

Will these be suitable ?

Thanks alot in advance

Richie

Only been doing this for a while, bit i should be able to answer your stand question on your tank.

If you are looking at a solid pine dresser/sideboard then you should be fine, long as the floor can cope with it. (see other posts in startup area). I am in the process of stripping down a great little sideboard I picked up from Ebay and re-varnishing it to match my interior. Long as the sideboard is braced all the way along you should be fine. If you look at most of the 'cabinets' that come with the usual stands they are chipboard and low quality wood (if you can call it that). So solid wood should be fine, making sure that the cabinet fits the entire length of the tank and is level and stable!

Thanks alot i was thinking that !

In the little manual thing u get it says there is a 2 year warranty on the tank only when used with proper Fluval stand tho :S

But i think solid wood is the best bet as your right the bought stands look real flimsey and crappy :D

Thanks alot
