Hi

i created a home made Yeast CO2 system and worked really well. I used a small ai stone to diffuse the bubbles and woked well. However me being me i bought the fluval CO2 diffuser as i liked the idea of it sticking in the side of the tank, neat and tidy (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hagen-A7542-Fluval-CO2-Diffuser/dp/B004H2GQV4)

However now i have it i have no idea how it works. Does anyone use one. Is it suppose to be full of water, and what are the little dials on the front?

thanks

I've got one in a 30 litre. When you put it in the tank, all of the air has to be out of it, that's what the two knobs are for. When you place it in the tank, pull the plastic of the two knobs and the air will come out, then it should be completely submerged in water and then put the two pieces of plastic back on. Then attatch you're co2 line to it. This diffuser works by containing the CO2 in the two cup bits, and when the flow of water passes through the diffuser, some Co2 is diffused into the water. These diffusers aren't meant to be used with a diy co2 system, because it's designed to be filled with CO2 and then left until it empties (with a pressurized system or co2 bottles). So it's not a good diffuser for a DIY system :good:
