I know Fluval recommend changing the motor seal ring, and the two aquastop o rings, yearly, and its probably a ploy to have your money, I lube mine every 3 months, on my 107 and 307, how often do you replace yours?

Remember most views are not actual people but robots.

I only replace the seals if there is an issue since i don't have issues with mine in 4 years i don't replace the seals.

Well, I can't/won't speak for the 64 others but, I have had a 307 for over 4 years and have done nothing but clean the foam pre-filter I installed at the outset.

I do weekly water changes and monthly cleaning of the pre-filter. I have replacement O-Rings, media and impeller but have never had a need to use them now or in the immediate future. Of course, I do not challenge the system with over population or feeding.

Hope this prevents anyone's rush to answer your question...but we are always here and ready for your next one ;).

my fluval fx4 has been running now for 5 years i think, I've only had to replace one of the lid latch knobs lol

I have had fluval filters for years; I never had to replace o-rings. I did have to replace the top input/output assembly on two filters when they started to leak. That is the one reason I like Fluval since replacement parts are easy to get on older models.
