Fluval 405

That size of tank ideally reaquires 1360 litres p/h filtration. The 405 gives 1300. It would be OK, but it really depends what you want to keep in there. Also, the current thinking on planted aquariums is that the more water turn over the better, and a good flow rate to get nutrients to every part of the tank (obviously without blowing your fish all over the tank too!)

Hope that helps

tank holds 340 lires and the 405 is rated for tanks up to 400 litres so i imagine it would be ok.

The tank his size is about 40 gallons and that is around 150 liters. 340 liters is about 90 gallons.

The fluval 405 would keep up with small fish. You would have a turn over rate of about 3-4 times per hour. The 405 is rated for 225 GPH but lets give it a 70% efficiency rating which give you about 160GPH. I don't know how well it would work on a planted tank though. My 304 is on my 29 Gallon 36" x 18" x 12". I have some plants and tropical fish and it keeps the water sparkling clear.

Man, 160 GPH. My Fx5 makes me think that is so little no a days at 550 gph. lol
