Fluval 306 Filter Media...!

I have just installed a Fluval 306 external filter to compliment my Juwel internal filter and was wondering what is the best media to put into the 3x media trays.
At the moment I have the Fluval Biomax in the bottom tray, Ehiem Subtrat Pro in the middle one and polishing pad+ carbon bags in the top one.
Good layout or any thoughts...?

Sound pretty much ideal to me, two trays of biomedia, your upright sponges, carbon and polywool/polishing pads on top.

Just so as you know... instead of buying polishing pads, see if your LFS sells big sheets of the stuff for pond filters... can be pulled in half if its too thick and can be cut down to size. Will be a fraction of the price if you are changing it regularly

looks good to me,
I wouldn't use carbon personally unless I needed to remove chemicals/meds from the the tank, but that's a personal choice. I choose peat pellets instead to acidify & obtain a slight tea clour to the water.
