I just got my Fluval 305 today, and I noticed when putting it together there is a LOT of room in the housing around the impeller. A LOT! One thing I admit is that the 305 does not have a SPECTACULAR flow rate, especially when there is actually MEDIA IN THE FILTER! (who cares about flow rate when the stupid thing is empty!?) My idea is that MAYBE a 405 impeller would fit in the 305 housing. The motor in the 405 might be able to produce more power, but it cannot spin slightly faster for the better flow rate due to the workings of AC motors. So the difference has to be the housing/impeller or both. With today's economy companies want to reuse as many parts as possible to prevent re-engineering and multiple manufacturing instances of parts that can easily be shared. Look at GM! They build the same car and sell it as 3 different models, just different bumpers! Back to the point... Has anyone tried this? I want to but I'd rather not dump $15 in a useless impeller if someone else has already tried it and failed. If it works it MIGHT be good for a few extra GPH

Thanks
Caleb
