Fluval 304

Hi

I have just bought my self a second user fluval 304 and was wondering if someone could reccomend what filter media to buy and where to get it from online, by the way i only have a standar community aquarium with the fish in my sig.

Does it have the sponges, if so simply fill the baskets with filter floss, which you can find at most good fish shops...or if you want to save cash buy some polyester pillow stuffing, if you know what filter floss looks like you won't have a problem finding it in a craft store..

Would that just get thrown away eventually then ? where do the bacteria live ? yes i do have the sponges for it

I'd definatly get some ceramics for one of the compartments

the polyester padding is a good idea (loads cheaper than 'filter wool')

I've got a 204 with ceramic, carbon and polyfilter as well as the vertical sponges in the slidy rack thing!

I wouldn't like the idea of using 2nd hand media, I'd personally throw it all away or boil it for a bit, although that's my preference.

They're quality filters, you'll be happy with that! You can get some good cheap skimmers from ebay for the x04's too!
