Fluval 304

I bought a fluval 304 second hand off e-bay, I already have a fluval 305 so knew how to set it up etc. but when it came to pumping the siphon to get it started the flow just wouldn't start, I pumped for about 15 minutes and nothing happened except the syphon pull thingy snapped... I filled the canister with water and turned it on to see what would happen but it justy made noise and again water didn't flow.... Anthing I can do now to get this thing working??

I dont know about this particular filter but have you checked the impeller? (propeller). My filter occasionally gets stuck and i have to spin it to get it loose!

Thanks for the advice but I worked out the problem.. I had the intake pipe on the out take socket Have ordered a new syphon now so have to wait for it to arrive before i can get the filter up and running

keep the input in water, suck the output tube and it will get a syphon going. Thanks Adam
