Fluval 3?

hi my fluval 3s impeller is always getting jammed i have cleaned all the pads and the drain and the impeller but it keeps getting jammed i just caught it a bit ago so i thought that u could help.

I used to have a fluval 2+ that had the same problem so I upgraded both tanks and switched to external filtration. They are great for bacteria and I have to admit that the old fluval always gave me a stable tank. IMO they just don't cope too well with waste so the only way around it is to keep cleaning the impeller or upgrade.

What it's getting jammed with? Mine hasn't ever jammed in the year and a half i've had it.

I can not speak for Jimmy927 but like I said it didn't cope with waste (fish poo, bits of food). The impeller would need cleaning every couple of days which was a nightmare if you wanted to go on holiday

When you cleaned it it worked like a dream and suck up everything but I just got fed up with the cleaning.

how odd

I guess it's cos of different stocking - I maintain my friends tank which is stocked with four big goldfish and her fluval 4+ is always getting clogged whereas mine filters a tank of small clean tropical and has never been clogged.

I have had my Fluval 204 for about a year now and never once has jamed up with stuff. But I do monthly maintance on mine as well. I keep a couple of fish that make a reall stink of a mess when it comes to waste.
