Thought i'd post a couple of pics of my new fluval 206 to give you an idea of whats in the box and also compare the medium to my old fluval 2+

out of the box

3 rd pic shows the new filter medium left and on the right the old fluval 2+ plus medium (which would be x2) as you can see a massive increase in surface area and chemical/mechanical filterarion

Looks pretty identical to my 205, but i still want one!
Are there any spec improvements on the older 205?

If you dont mind me asking, how much did you get this for?

The best price i could find was on zooplus and using a 1st time customer code of 'great1333' got 13% off - delivery is free

meaning the final price for the fluval 206 was £46.97 delivered

i'll post the differences between 205 and 206 shortly

What’s New in the Fluval 06 Filter Canisters?

Re-Engineered Priming System
This powerful primer plunger functions in unison with the secondary check valve resulting in drawing water to the filter even when the water surface is as much as 12” below the aquarium rim.

Redesigned Aquastop

Levers for better grip, strength and durability. Fluval’s AquaStop valve offers unparallel convenience and ease of use. It creates an air and watertight seal that allows you to disconnect hosing without breaking the vacuum that keeps air out of the line.

Lift Lock Clamps

The lift lock canister clamps have been redesigned to provide additional strength and less tensile flexing. The handles seat into the sides of canister for increased ergonomics and security. Fluval Lift locks canister clamps not only secure the filter head to the canister itself but also provides a convenient lever action that easily opens the filter without mess for your regular maintenance and changing of media.

Other new features

Increased Hydraulic performance
Less frequent maintenance
Increased water filtration performance
Cleaner water
Redesigned impeller cover
Less prone to breakage while cleaning
Hose lock nuts for improved security
Grip hose fittings

Grrrrr I've just bought a 105 for £60 from my lfs which I thought was cheap for a shop as there usually cheaper online. I wanted the 206 but everywhere I looked they were about 70! I actually use zooplus and never even thought to look on there. Maynnnn peed off now cos the 206 is cheaper then my 105. Don't think there's much difference thou reading up on em and I'm pretty impressed with the 1 I got and can't get over how quiet it is compared to my interpet pf2

Bought mine on 29th too lol

I paid more than that for my 205. Sadface!
