I Was Thinking of buying the Fluval 1200 Tank and Stand, But the stand dose not look like it can take the weight,

Please can someone help

Hi Beltdrive,

I have a Fluval Duo 1000 tank and the stand on that is fairly similar. I was a bit concerned about the strength of the stand, but took the stance that Hagen must have done their research as it wouldn't do their reputation much good to sell a tank/stand combination that wouldn't bear the weight.

I have also had a search on the web and not come across any horror stories.

Having said that I have made sure that my house contents insurance covers me for any damage to the flat below in the event of a tank breakage......

Cheers, Eddie

How much would you (or did you) guys pay for the ones you have?
Was considering one I saw for discount at a local Maidenhead aquatics

I got mine at Maidenhead Aquatics - prices were 'discounted' but then again I haven't seen them sold at full prices. The price at Maidenhead was good compared to other LFSs round here.

I can't remember exactly - I think in the region of £300-350 complete, but that is a bit of a guess. I will see if I still have the receipt somewhere and get the exact price.

Eddie

Thank you,

The tank set was 179.99, and the stand was 69.99 I Think.

hi there beltdrive,my husband bought my fluval duo and stand from my local maidenhead aquatics 4 weeks ago, same model i think;40 inches long. paid about 250.00 the set up for my birthday.lucky me. we had our doubts about the stand as its a flatpack but its very wellmade and once together amazingly strong , been up and running no probems,i'm thrilled to bits with it :D

I also have a Fluval 1000 and i can tell you they have steel bars incerted into them and mixed with a cement selant inside. Very safe!
