Fluidized silica sand biofilters

Hi i just got a fluidized silica biofilter, but impulse buy dont know much about em, anyone got any idea if they are effective, i got them in sale at my lfs, got two for my main tanks, it looks like it may work but im not sure. The make i got is quick sand.

any help would be great

I use a Sea Storm 60. They are great for biological filtration.

Congrats, you have just purchased one f the best bio filters for a fish setup. Not sure about the make, but fluidized filters are great. They have a massive surface area for the filter bacteria, and thus can sustain a larger quantity of fish.
