Flowerhorn Feeding

i have a new flowerhorn that my friend gave to me hes really picky on what he eats first i tried hikari color enhancing pellets it just spits it out,and then i tried cichlid food its kinda loong and thin same thing,.so now i give them frozen bloodworms and they love only problem is i dont like to feed it bloodworms all the time cause i know it dont have enough nutrients in them,.they also like eating minnows and feeders i just dont know if its safe for daily food,.can i use crickets?i tried feeding my arrowana a cricket and my flowerhorn ate it instead,.so yeah he likes crickets alot also,..btw on frozen bloodworms do they cause a problem for the fish if i feed directly from the freezer?do i need to thaw it for a bit??need some advice on feeding my flowerhorns,.

Hi there.
You should ideally try to find a single staple food he will like. Try the new Tetra Natura range, that may be more to his liking.
Don't feed feeders, especially not cyprinids, as they are full of fat and nothing else.
Feeding frozen bloodworm will do him no harm, but you are right to question using it 24/7 as it will not give him a balanced diet.
Feeding straight from the freezer is no problem either as your water will quickly melt and heat the frozen food.
