I have been told that you have to breed two differnet cichlids to get the offspring of a Flowerhorn cichlid. I also have been told that Trimac, red devil, sysnpilum, carpintis, texas, and red terror (one of these combos) can have great looking Flowerhorn offspring. I was wondering if anyone had any idea and would like to help me please. I would really like to start breeding them (just of me) soon. For some reason people online won't tell me the combos to get them. If you don't want to say it over the forum I'll give you my e-mail so you can just tell me that way. Also, I have access to red devils, red terrors, and texas from my LFS. Thank you

Do you want to breed flowerhorns or breed your own flowerhorns? 2 flowerhorns will breed to give more flowerhorns and experimenting with the fish you mentioned would also give some form or flowerhorn.Im breeding what are know as rainbow king flowerhorns that are KK parrot x synspillium.

I want to breed two cichlids to get some flowerhorns. I just don't know what combo to use and what combo of cichlids look best.

Your probably best starting with a trimac and midas/devil or even better a kk parrot(female) and prossibly breeding the offspring to a texas.

King Kong parrot, its pretty much a more parroty midas/devil.

let me know what you got planned.. or if not, i could ask you to breed something :hey:

I think I'm going to but some Flowerhorn about 5 of them and see if I can get a pair. What would you want me to breed? I'm open for anything.

a nice pearly texas and a veija :good: but you will have to do more steps to get what i would like you to achieve

So if I can't get my hands on some flowerhorns you recommand Veija(could I use a Backbelt) and a texas?
What kind of looking hybrid would those two make? What about a KK parrot in that mix?

What are those steps....I would really like to know. Thank you for the help

I wouldnt really wanna use a black belt for they lack pearls and colors as of related Viejas as such that i would use are V. bifasciata; V. fenestrata; and V. guttulata or even a synspillum.. Plus black belt would be more a dominant gene showing them black belts.. and most Fh hobbyist really dont like that.. it's either straight flowerline or none at all be best..

dont worry bout the kkp.. that you could use later when you get your selective breeders.. I bet you will make some bomb as pearly kamfas.. the problem is just finding a male vieja with dominant genes and traits that are much look for in a fh .. also finding a texas female that will lay eggs and is fertile may also be hard too.. but when you have both of the potential parents.. go ahead and get it goin.. good luck.. and the kkp is best to be used to make your product looks shorter and stockier .. beside kkp or parrots would be an ending results..

If I were you just get a really nice male FH and a nice female FH or KKP then breed and don't make your life complicated.

Breeding FHs is as easy as ABC. The only problem is you need many tanks to raise each juvies.

Thats what I was thinking. I can't get my hands on a Veija so I ordered 5 FHs from an lfs and I am going to breed those together. I have two 55G, 90G, two 10G. But soon I'm getting rid of the two 10Gs and one of the 55Gs and getting a 150G.
