Hey, okay so I have an air pump in one of my 12 gallons and absolutely love it, It improved my water quality no end and my seaweed loves it! Only thing is it's a tad too powerful so I was thinking of getting a flow regulator, that's only part of the reason though, it's right next to our settee so it's pretty noisy when you're trying to watch TV. My question may sound silly but, if I attach a flow regulator to the pump will it hush it slightly as well as reduce air flow?

you will probably find that it will be noisier due 2 more air staying in the pump it self and vibrating think getting a smaller air pump would be really the only option :)

Bah, oh well. I need a new pump for my tropical fresh so I'll pick a flow reg up too and see what works best, cheers for the heads up Jen :)

It's better to bleed off excess air, back pressure will wear the diaphragm quiucker.
