I follow the label and dose every day, but I still had a few questions about Flourish Excel

Is reducing surface disturbance just as important as when using co2 injection?

Can it be "lost" before the plants can utilize it?

Also, are frequent large water changes ever needed to prevent the buildup of this stuff in the aquarium?

Thanks

Hi
From my limited understanding, surface agitation should have no effect as the active ingredient is gluteraldehyde which the plant then converts into CO2.
I can remember reading somewhere that after 24 hours it can't be traced in the water column thus the need for daily dosing.
I don't think water changes are needed to reduce build up of Exel but they are needed to reduce build up of ammonia.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me can clarify if need be.

You have a excellent understanding :good:

Actually the more agitation/circulation of your water the less likely buildup of algae you'll have. I'm about to install a 240 gph koralia powerhead on a ten gallon.
