I just got some flourescent lights for my 10 gallon divided. WOW! Does it ever make a difference! Suddenly the bettas look like those velvet paintings in black light. They're just glowing.
I can't believe I didn't do this before.

The brightness did get me worrying though. Could this cause blindness or anything? It's a 15w high intensity aquarium bulb.
I wanted to get one that might accomodate live plants.
Wouldn't the bettas be showing if the light bothered them? They don't seem to be avoiding the light at all. There are areas where they can seek shelter from the light but they don't seem to do that.

I need to find some plants that float on top maybe. Is that Java Moss? I can't seem to find any Java Moss or Java Fern at any of the lfs's around here. Any suggestions on where to find it?
I want to plant live plants but ony have regular gravel substrate. Not sure if I can get much to grow in it.
