I had been looking for flourescent light for my 2.5 gal. tanks, couldn't find any for tanks that small. Until finally, today at Wal-Mart I found a 10 watt flourescent light :) It's so much better than the incandescent light!

Nowadays "screwable" fluorescents are available most everywhere. They have starters and everything included, and consume less energy. They are pricey though, but they solve the problem of small enough fluorescent light.

I use the 10w one from Walmart as well on my 10g breeding tank and it seems to serve its purpose just fine... I have a ball of java moss in there and it is growing very well... I just started getting some brown algae, so I'll probably have to move some otos from the community tank but this pretty much proves that this light works just fine for the aquarium...

Best of all, it was cheap...
