I would like some plants that float on the top of my aquarium for my gourami and killifish. I was thinking anarchis (sp) but the only problem is all of the lfs can't say for sure if they will have snails. I see snails in with them but even if I don't get a snail, I don't know if the plant has egg sacks on it. So, is there any type of fake plant that would float on the surface of the water? I keep trying regular fake plans but they all sink even if I remove the plastic anchor.

I think I have seen fake floating plants but I'm not sure. Check out the Petsmart website if I have seen them thats where it was.

Duckweed grows like mad it covers my 380 litre along with Salvinnia natans completely every week and I have to remove alot each time.

:fish: When you buy your floating plants buy a bucket and some snail treatment at the same time. :)
Put the water from your water changes in the bucket and add the floating plants along withe a dose of the snail treatment. :)
Leave the bucket in a sunny place and keep dosing with the snail treatment for at least a month(doing small water changes weekly with tank water). :)
As you have no fish in the bucket you needn't worry too much if you overdose a bit :D

They don't make snail killer in California. At least not anywhere in Central CA.

i was also after some floating plants but couldn't find any here in australia. then my amazon sword sprouted a stalk up to the surface and now i have about 10 little baby ones growing out of it on the surface. it looks great
