Floating plants for 29 gallon

No not really. I use two clip on desk lamps with medium intensity led bulbs on my tank and I dose liquid fertilizers but they’ll do fine without it
leave them be and see how they do. if they grow they turn into a lovely plant
Thanks! I have a lot of surface agitation in my tank from an air stone and filter. I've seen things online that kind of float on top of the water and create a little enclosed space to put floating plants so they stay contained. I think they're called feeding rings. Is there an easy was to make one? Thanks!

Oh yeah for sure. You can use airline hose to make a circle it works great. I squeeze gel super glue in one end and fill that end up good and then just kind of fold the other end a little to shove it in easier. If your hose has any kind of kinks that won’t come out and it’s shaping weird you can cut a piece of cardboard to the shape you want and use a blow dryer on the hose to heat it up and wrap it around the cardboard or whatever you’re using and it’ll stay.

Thanks! I saw another idea where you can use plastic straws and make a little square. I could attach a suction cup to the side of my tank and tie some fishing line to hold the little square in place. Do you think the plastic straw would be safe for my tank? I don't want it to leech chemicals in my water

I’m not 100% sure I really can’t tell ya one way or the other but I would think that if they’re safe enough for people to drink through they’d be fine floating in a tank

You can make a plastic loop out of airline and a joiner, or plastic hose and a joiner. Then tie a length (about 10-12inches) of fishing line or string to the loop and have the other end tied to a suction cup. The suction cup goes against the glass about half way down in the water.

The plants go in the plastic loop and when you do water changes, the string allows the loop to go up and down with the water.

The Red Root Floaters came in today! I ordered a pack of 24 on Ebay but I got so much more than 24! They are all bright healthy plants with nice bright red roots and almost all of them have little white flowers! I'll post pics soon! I also ordered some Hygrophila Polysperma from the same seller and it looks lovely!
