flicking fish

i'm fairly new to fishkeeping and at the moment i'm a bit worried. one of my platies is flicking around and rubbing against the gravel. another platy died yesterday, but i hadn't noticed it flicking around.

anyone who can help it would be appreciated.

Have they got little white spots on them? I need to know what your water readings are like ammonia nitrites and nitrates..How long has your tank been up and running? How many fish is in it and what size is your tank.

Right, all my readings a 0. my tank is 24" x 18" x 15". There are about 20 fish in there and I can't see any white spots. my tank has been up and running for about 4 weeks now. I have an eheim ecco filter. I bought it second hand with the tank, it had only b een turned off a matter of a couple of days.
