Haha ok I just fed my Zebra Danios, and one of the long finned ones decided he'd show off a bit, he flared up just like a betta! I was like WHOA! Did I see that right? lol, cuz I had no clue they even did that. And he was doin it to another fish, but I don't know if he was going "hey bud move it I'm way hotter", or if he was going "hey baby how YOU doin"... :hyper: lol I can't tell the difference and have no clue who's female and who's male... even though I've done the reading and supposedly there's differences haha... maybe I just have all boys. Anyway I realize I got a little off topic there, sorry! I just thought it was way cool that my boy decided to show his stuff... he's hot  hehehe

My pleco flares at my turtles every now and then when he doesn't get his way. He is also good at shoving them around or pushing them out of his way. I know once those turtles get a few inches bigger I'll have to rehouse them because they may eventually turn on the fish.

I found this about Danios and thought it was neat:

When kept as individuals, danios have a tendency to harass other fish in the tank. They are fast swimmers and prefer a longer tank for maximum room. A few plants will provide cover and encourage breeding. Danios are monogamous breeders. The female will lay 400 to 500 eggs that hatch in 2 to 3 days.

 oh man..... lol..... I really hope my Danio wasn't flirting then, cuz if he was, I'll have 400 to 500 babies! haha sheesh... I wouldn't have a clue to do with all those lil guys.

Feeder fish!!! Danios make a great treat for my GT and JD :p

awwww kevin!! :( Im sorry!! What happened? And was he a long finned one too? And was it a he?! I'm tryin to figure this out and see if its normal and if females do it - and if its a spawning thing or maybe just an aggressive thing. Hmm... I think I maybe will hope for it to be an agression thing cuz... I ain't feedin my babies  to impur!! lol... meanie :p

to say the the truth, i don't know what happened to my zebra danios, 1 night i saw my danio not swimming and he was like, he din't have any more energy and soon he died and then later that night, my other danio died the same way they were a pair and i would say that the female was pregnant :-( but life goes on.... for me. :D
