The LFS just got in a couple of Flame Scallops (Lima Scabra). They are relatively cheap, and look awesome, but the shop was busy and i wasnt looking to buy so i didnt bother to ask much about them. I googled around a bit but only found general stuff about them and was hoping someone here had some experience with them. Good, bad, nano nukers?

i have heard that flame scallops usually do really well in a "dirty" tank. Over obundance of nutrients ect. Its a catch 22. you want your tank to look nice, no algae, green, brown or whatever. However the flame scallops thrive in an environment where the water is not ideal reef/fish quality. So basically the scallops end ups starving to death.

..they also nuke a tank very quickly when they die......from several member's sad experience. SH
