Flagtail Prochilodus

Hi,

I think I know the answer which is "no, none" but I just wanted to check.

Are there any plants I can put in a tank with a flagtail prochilodus that wont get eaten?

I had a certain extent of luck with java fern, anubias nana and large crypts usually did well for me.

thanks to both of you, I may move one of the large swords from my 30gallon and give it a try, I'll have to buy some tetra complete stubrate for it then lol

Try root tabs, I think i had some made by JBL and they let my swords grow really well in my first tank, had 20" swords and 4ft long vallis, with basic lighting.

I've kept a Flagtail Prochilodus in a heavily planted tank for a couple of years with no problem.

The only plants I've seen him eat are ones with very fine leaves.

Prochilodus are Characins, odd ones maybe but still Characins.

Yeah I know they are characins, but I imo oddballs is their league lol

nice setup you have there, I notice your prochilodus has striped a tail, like all the others I've seen, but mine has a more of a jaguar/tiger pattern to the tail, and also the dorsal is plain grey with no markings.
