I just picked up a used 75 Gallon tank. Filled it with water and the bottome seals are leaking. So, what is the proper way of taking care of this?

Thanks in advance!

The way I fixed my 29 gallon is I used a razor blade and removed the old sealant. I got a tube of silicone aquarium sealant and just followed the directions on the tube. Basically, it said to clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol, dry it, apply the sealant and press it into the corner. It takes 48 hours to dry so you can fill it with water to test the seal. Make sure you don't get the sealant on your skin because it is extremely irritating and very hard to get off.

Ive just had this problem, got my new tank finally up and running, 2 weeks later, I spring a leak!! Popped to my local lfs and bought some aquaria sealant and it cost about £3. All surfaces need to be dry and free from grease then just pop it is - I do think though I was advised to leave it to prime for 72 hrs :dunno: Its now been full of water for 4 days doing a leak test, the tank is sat on newspaper so I can see if there is anything coming from anywhere it shouldnt. Im going to leak test for a week or so, and if all is good, am going to redrain and put everything back in!

Good luck!
