Yesterday one of my kuhli loaches was dead. The day before they were all ok. I also notice that when i drop food in the tank they no longer come out to eat. Ever since I had these 5 black kuhlis they would come out and eat as soon as I droped any food in the tank, now, I never see them.
Today there is a kuhli that looks like it's going to die and a dead white cloud and a dead zebra danio. Also one long finned zebra is swimming upsidedown and missing his tail and has a spot on his back that looks like it was attacked.
I have 2 albino corys, 11 white clouds, 5 bloodfin tetras, 5 neons and 4 kuhli loaches.
I also had 2 chinese algae eaters about 2" long, I'm wondering if they attacked these fish, but it seems hard to believe that they attacked the zebra or the white cloud. I stilll took the CAEs out of the tank to make sure.
All the remaning fish seem happy and healthy, except the one kuhli and zebra that are dieing.
I tested my water and all the levels are ok.
I don't know what else to look for.....

Sorry to hear it mate :(

What are actual parameters and how long is this set up? whats water change schedule like?

How old are dead fish and any symptoms with them?

There seems to be a few species that are sold as cae/sae and some can be quite aggressive and teratorial....

The only reading that was a little off, the ph was a little high. I can't remember all the numbers though.
The tanks been set up for almost 5 months
It's a 55 gallon and I was doing 10 gallon water changes every other day, except weekends, and I don't feed them from saterday about noon to monday about noon.
I was on vacation from december 21 to jan 3 and there were no water changes, then I only changed about 15 gallons then didn't change any until today, I changed 15 gallons.

The fish are all young

I hope it was the cae/sae, I took them out today. Damn that was hard, chasing them things around a fully planted tank. I had to take out one big rock and the driftwood, but I caught them. I wore them out to where they just couldn't run anymore. Didn't even stir the tank up.

3 more dead this morning. Yesterday at 3:00pm I took a good look at all the fish, they all seemed fine, no marks on any of them, all acting normal. This morning there were 3 dead fish, one half eaten, but none of the fish in the tank are aggressive, I think....
I have bloodfin tetras, a zebra danio, neons, kuhli loaches, white clouds, and albino corys, that's it, oh, and tons of snails too. none of those should be aggressive, should they?

I checked all the fish with a magnifying glass about an hour ago, they all look very healthy, as well as acting healthy. The kuhli loaches didn't com out and eat when I feed them today, but they did get active under the driftwood.

Whats your ph of your tap water to the tank, also you might need to use a internal bacteria med with losing alot of fish, if it's not your ph first.

With the problems you seem to be having regular checking of the water parameters may give some clues - have you any test kits?

what makes me think it's not the water, the fish seem healthy, then the next day there missing fins or half eaten. Yesterday I had a zebra danio that was dieing, his fins were eaten and there was a big redish brown spot on it's back and he was swimming upside down, died that night.
what makes this not right is the type of fish I have, none are aggressive, see previous post for the list...

I would add an anti internal bacteria med to the tank, I had brown spots on my goldfish when husband fetched the fish home, I used antibiotics and they cleared up, good luck.

there isn't spots, just one spot where it looked like something attacked it, none of the other fish have any marks on them.....

There were no dead fish today, they all seem happy, except I the kuhli loaches didn't come out of there cave when was feeding the fish.... but I could see them moving around in there......
I can't figure out what killed those fish.....
