fishless cycle

is it normal to have no sign of nitrite after one week of adding ammonia???
thats what ive been doing.
any advice appreciated

the tank is approximately 15g maybe a little more... i added 4ml of ammonia the first day and that brought the ammonia level to 5ppm. I've been adding this same amount everyday since.

Im thinking the same...

Im just back from my holiday so im starting my fishless cycle from a fresh start.
Been doing it for a few days and no sign of nitrites.

I was under the impression that i kept the ammonia level at ~5 so sometimes i dont add ammonia because the level is still around the ~5 mark.

Am i supposed to keep adding ammonia even if the level is still around 5 making the ammonia go off the scale?

Sorry for hijacking the post but im in the same position.

It's normal. It can take up to a couple weeks for nitrite to show up. Be patient.
