I heard that it can be really bad to have a tank near a door, near a TV, speakers, and near a window. I get the window because it can lead to algae growth but I was wondering how bad/key the TV, speaker and door aspect are as I am trying to find out where in my already small room I can place my tank.

Even tv light can contribute to algae. I put a towel over the front glass of the tank when tank lights are off and tv is on.
As for the rest doorways that lead outside can cause drafts when cold. Also want tank against an inside wall not outside. Outside wall xan effect temperature of tank. Speakers im assuming fish dont like the vibration the noise creates if its right next to tank or may its an electrical worry, im not sure.

One of my speakers that is hooked to a 150 stereo amplifier is right next to my 35 gallon tall hex tank. The fish like dancing to the music, especially reggae music

And they like watching the tv, especially fish videos on youtube.

The door does not lead outside but I heard that that the movement might stress fish.

It doesn't need to be a door to the outside, it could be a door between one room and another.

So the two places in the house that I can have the tank as of now is next to a door, or next to a wall that is connected outdoors. Which one would be better for the fish? If I do have it next to the door, could i cover the side of the tank facing the door with like some decor and driftwood to try to keep the fish from seeing too much of the traffic/door swinging? Or would getting a stronger heater help with stabilizing the temperature near the outside connected wall?

My main concerns would be avoiding direct sunlight and having access to electric sockets.
I wouldn't encourage doors that bang loudly or that could hit the tank, nor loud speakers but other than that either will do.

the sunlight can be blocked off with a curtain and there are sockets nearby. The door doesnt bang loudly but should I still avoid it or will covering that side so the fish don't get startled be fine?

The problem issue is not movement, but sound and light. Fish can get used to movement through a room or door; this is why fish that have beeen in the store tank for several days usually have no reaction to people walking by. But a fish tank in a room that has very infrequent activity is a very different story; any activity such as someone entering the room can panic the fish.

Fish are highly sensitive to light and sound, and much more than humans are. I have seen all the fish in a tank dart/jump when the door in the house across the street closes, or a car door shuts. Thee lateral line is a highly sensitive sound detector. Fish are also more sensitive to light; never use a flash when taking pictures, and do not have the fish anywhere near a TV. The TV light emissions can be very strong. And fish should never be in a room with amplified sound.

In time I suppose fish might become used to some of this, but i suspect it is still a serious detriment.

Might I pick this thread up again with regards to positioning near a window. If it is a heavily planted tank. I expect the sunlight will assist plant growth, however is it the inconsistency of daylight that can promote algae growth?

Yes, this is not a good idea, to place an aquarium such that it receives direct sunlight. Even diffused daylight through blinds can cause problem algae if it is bright or longer in duration such as during summer.

Sunlight here will not assist plant growth because the sunlight will be stronger than the nutrient balance, and for a too long period. That means algae.
