Fish Suppliers

Hi

I read on the forum and in books about varying water conditions for individual speacies of fish,

Can some one tell me do fish suppliers in there aquariums with fish for sale adjust each aquariums water conditions for each type of fish they are selling?.

I live in a hard water area, Does that mean my local fish suppliers adjust the water in there tank's if so this must be very time consuming when doing partial water changes.
