Fish Stuck In Filter!

Hi all

my clown loach has been missing for about 5 days and i just found him in my filter roaming around the top.
When i tryed to grab him but he swam to the bottom of the filter.

Its a jewel 180 standard filter, i dont know how to get him out because as some of u may know there is a section inside the filter were fish can swim to the bottom of.

To take the media out do i just pull the little plastic ring up in the filter?

Yes you should be able to remove all media, then either put hand in to bottom, pull up slowly, see if you can catch that way, if not have you got a net small enough to go in filter and catch him
