Hi I have a 25 Litre rectangle aquarium ( around 6 gallons ) and a 30L BiOrb aquarium and need some help with stocking I am thinking two female pea puffers in rectangle one and one male Betta and some tetras or shrimp in my BiOrb but not sure any help appreciated

I would be more tempted with a tank of four puffers to avoid potential fighting. Happily corrected by the more experienced though.
Also, keep the betta by itself
Would a divider in the middle of the two puffers prevent fighting ? or is the space left not enough ? Will the betta be ok with shrimp or no ?

Personally, and I would say a large proportion of people would keep the Betta alone, a snail at most, it could be nippy toward the shrimps. Regarding the puffer, I’m not experienced in keeping them but can’t help but think a divider makes getting two kinda pointless

I’m not much a fan of the biorb either. I’ve got my betta in a 30l, can’t imagine him having any less.

I thought we'd worked out that the biorb is actually their 15 litre one?

I wouldn't put tetra in a biorb of any size, tetra need swimming space.

@vanalisa has a pea puffer, I've never kept them.

Cory from aquarium coop has an interesting video, judging by his advice, neither tank would be suitable for peas
He also states they’re territorial which I guess is where the numbers come from

Hi,
I have a single Pea Pea Puffer in a 5g rectangle (Fluval Spec). I'll move him up to a 6g when I can, although I'm sure he's hoping for a 10g! I think one in your rectangle is the only option for you. Other choice for rectangle is one betta and maybe a 2-4 nerite snails depending on their size.

As far as the biorb, I've read that they are disorienting for fish. My Puffer looks disoriented already as he tends to waft about. Make no mistake, when it comes to the hunt it's on! Their eyes can move independent from each other which helps with hunting.

I do think biorb are gorgeous tanks. If you already have the tank I suggest doing small shrimp, like red cherry. I have a colony in a 5g and have been pleasantly surprised at their entertainment value! I love the wee critters.

I’m not a huge fan of a BiOrb but I had it so I thought I may aswell have some fish in it as for the betta I might just keep it alone or would a baby bristle nose pleco be ok then I will move it into my 200L tank when it gets to big or do bettas generally just do better alone ?

So for my rectangle I’m going to get one pea puffer and BiOrb would a Betta be ok in there and moss balls ?

Did you watch the short video? Make sure you are willing to keep Puffer alone, go the extra mile to get frozen food, snails, etc?

How big is biorb again, I'm not clear...

Maybe think about the betta in the 6g and hold off on the Puffer?
What size again for biorb? Certainly we can offer other options if we knew the size; even if you dont want shrimp!
