Hi, I have started my fishtank hobby after long long time. I have community fish tank. I lost 5 Black mountain minnows in in last few days. They were having swimming difficulty. And now my Badis badis fish staying on floor and his colour turns dark. I hope he is also not going by Minnows way!!!!
Can anybody could tell me what's happening?

Hi, we need a lot more information before we can help.

Any other symptoms besides swimming difficulty - spots or patches, eroding fins etc?
How big is the tank?
How long has it been running?
How long have the affected fish been in the tank?
What other fish are in the tank and when were they added?
What are the ammonia and nitrite levels?
How often do you do water changes, and how much do you change each time?

I have 55 gallons tank. I have 3 pearl gouramis, one (remaining) Black mountain minnow, 2 two and half inches gold fish and 1 one and half inches Bulgarian Angel.
It started with the 6 small Bulgarian angels i brought. Around 20 days after bringing them some of them started swimming little slanted on one side and they died in 2 days after affected. Some of them looked alright and died next day. Now i have only one remaining.
Then i guess it affected minnows and they died one by one.
This is going on since past one month.
No white spots or patches. Fins or not eroded.
I do water change in 2/4 days and i change 75% of water.
Not checked pH level. I'll check it now. I ref somewhere that when angels swimming sideways it means their lungs are affected. Then again i was confused.

Thanks answering!

Welcome to TFF

ph is much less important than ammonia, nitrIte, and nitrAte levels...what are these readings? What kind of test kit do you use?

Was the tank cycled before adding fish?

Was the tank cycled before adding fish?
This means did you add ammonia to the tank to grow the good bacteria before getting fish? That's a fishless cycle.
Or does the tank have a lot of live plants? That's a plant cycle.

Pictures of the fish?

Check the tap water and aquarium water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. Post the results in numbers.
