Hello everyone.
I am hoping someone can help me with this problem I have.
I have a 10 gallon tank with 2 platys.
One of the fish, has a white cotten like substance on the top part of the mouth and also a dot of it on the lung area. I am thinking that is fungus. But, when she swims, she seems to be flipping kinda. This is hard to explain, but she seems edgie like she has an itch or something. I have seen her stay in the stream of bubbles from the airstone twice already, like it was some kind of relief. I didn't think that fungus affected the fish internally, not sure though, so I thought maybe she has something else besides fungus. Can someone suggest anything I can buy to put in the water. The other fish in the tank is uneffected as of yet. I don't have a hospital tank unfortunately.
EDITED TO SAY: I just put aquarium salt in the water and I have some melifix (not sure the spelling) in there too. I have the feeling that won't help much. Since the last time I had a problem similiar (last year) the fish died. I am hoping this won't happen again in this case.
If someone can give me advice or thoughts on what I should do, I would greatly appreciate it.
thank you!!
