Fish safe bondo for non waterlogged wood

Anyone have any experience with this? Or is it better to design my tank to where the rocks will hold down the wood?

I prefer to attach together the pieces of wood to give the shape and position I want. Generally I use cable or other type of ties not glues. Then I position rocks and plants. Initially, additional rocks may be needed if using new wood. Free if you already have the wood.
