Fish Rape?????

First, I want to know why my guppy keeps trying to rape my platy. They aren't the same breed! It is really weird. Can someone explain?

Second, when my 10 gallon tank settles back to normal, can I take my fry out of the uncycled 2.5 gallon tank and put them with the other fish (1 platy, 1 guppy, 1 neon tetra)? Or if that doesn't work, can I put them into a breeding net thats connected on the tank till they grow up?

The same thing happened to my swordtail although i wouldnt call it "rape". lol
My male mollie (who died a week ago) would chase my female swordtail. Because Guppies and Platys are both livebearers its possible for them to cross breed.

Yeah plus the guppys al might be males and with no females they turn to the next best thing.
