What is Fish Oil and why is it used? Why do people take it? I have Lyme Disease.. Would it be helpful for me to take it?

I'm sorry, but I don't know if anyone here is qualified to answer this question. I would recommend talking to your doctor or going to a hospital or medical university to recieve more info on this :good:

i dont know how trustworthy or reliable it is, but there is this site you could maybe search... its like wikipedia but its medical

http://www.webmd.com/

Fish oil is good for longterm heart health and a few other things. I agree, you should talk with your doctor about this.

oh come on people. Lets give Vickie medical advice over the internet :)

Lyme Disease is caused by a bacteria that you catch when bitten by infected deer ticks. You need to get a doctor to check you out and prescribe some antibiotics.

Fish Oil contains Omega 3 fatty acids that are good for cell growth and heart function. It will help your overall health but won't do anything towards helping get rid of the Lyme disease.
You can take Fish Oil capsules or eat fresh fish like sardines or any oily fish species.

saltwater fish have a substantially higher omega 3 rating than freswhater fish

Fish oil is recommended for a healthy diet because it contains the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), precursors to eicosanoids that reduce inflammation throughout the body.Medical usages of fish oil can be found in details at www.mamaherb.com
