I place Britany, a female CT, back into the community tank. Kept her is a separate tank for a few days so that he damaged fins could heal free from the intermittent harrasment from other females. When I woke up this morning and fed them, I noticed that Britany did not come up for food, so search the tank for her.

I saw her behind the tank. She was still "moist" so I out her in a separate tank with water from the female community tank. She is coming too.... but to early to say how things will go.

The tank has a cover but it does have 5mm openings on each side of the cover. Water level is 1" from the top. I guess I better lower that a bit more.

Hope she makes it fine.

I know exactly how you felt. My first time breeding (this was when i was really stupid i mean EXTREMELY stupid) the male plakat jumped out of hte breeding tank (10 gallon) and well i came back and i saw him on the floor. Good thing he was okay and nothing damaged. I was lucky that time. You really should lower your water. D chia or whatever his name is raises betta in jars. The water level is 2inch from the top.

The first timei found my betta on the ground or jumped out somewhere, i panick big time. My dad usually cares for the fish so he took the net, net the betta, and returned him. It stills terrifies me a little bit when a fish jumps out but eventually i got over my fear.

Parts of her fin are really pale. She is swimming around though.

Don't worry about your betta. My female who just got into a fight 2 weeks ago jumped out and landed 1 feet just 2 days after she got into the fight. She's fine now. Flaring, eating, swimming, nothing wrong =]

I hope she makes a full recovery.

Its very shocking when they jump isn't it

I stuff my gaps at the back of my tank with rolled up kitchen roll as I'm paranoid something could sneak through the small gaps they leave for wires and tubes etc.

So far I've not had anyone manage to unblock the holes and get through :)

Her finnage took a beating. Like it got a it withered, but she is swimming, eating and flaring at her neighbor. :D
