Hi, ive rescued today a small coralius ccichlid from a very neglected tank. This morning he was stable, swiming and eating, and a few hours later he was on his side not responding.
Ive been monitoring him in the last few daysbeacuse i saw hes being bullied alot and has a ragged fin. he is also very skinny. The tank is very neglected, nitrate was more then 200ppm and i started to do WC 2 weekds ago{its not my tank, im trying to help the fish} i think that what caused the collapse was bulling again from the other fish.
I took him and right now he is in a bucket. ive increased the salinty to 0.5% and now about 10 hors later he seems better, still on bottom but straight and moving his fins
I wanted to ask if you have reccomendation for supporting him and help him recover.
thank yo

Daily large water changes and the salt are your best bet right now. Be sure new water is as close to previous to tank water in temp as possible. Give him time to rest. Lights out and sheet over him if he’s in a busy room.
