Hey! (Not sure this belongs here but it wasn't to do with aquariums, just freshwater fish.)
I went to Portugal last summer and I was swimming in River Montego in Penacova. I noticed a good few fish around.
I'm not sure if the ones I caught were babies or tetras. Anyway, they were tetra shape, like neons, and had a gold top/back and silver underneath. Just wondering if anyone knows what this could be? I understand tetras or most things similar aren't from Portugal but apparently they add fish to waters in different countries for whatever reasons. I should also point out that I caught them by building a sand trap and chasing the fishing in from the deep end and trapping them in there with more sand. Creating a small pool where I could observe.
There were a lot of fish jumping out the water, I saw (very faintly) what looked to be like a catfish, a bit like corydoras which was cool. And an eel swam by, which was nice. :L
Also, I was wondering if anyone knew of a website where you can see what fish are in what countries? e.g. fish of portugal, and then a list.
Hopefully I'm going again, but this time I will take my rod, free diving gear and a container so I can take a picture of the fish this time.
Thanks for reading!
I couldn't get a good picture as I didn't take my fish tank to portugal...
