i have had the tank up and running for only two weeks with fish in it. We are leaving next week for a little over a week. is there anything i can do or am i going to come home to dead fish? i put the fish in before finding this site , so shame on me i know. Not going on vacation isnt a option, and no one i feel comfortable asking to change the water for me every day. Any suggestions or am i screwed?

Id say youre screwed.

Unless, anyone know anything about that stuff that makes ammonia and nitrite non toxic?

Could that work?

he could get some its a powder, but not many places sell it and i cant remember the name (had a discuss photo on the tub), but even that is a tempory solution and i doubt it would last a week. must be someone you know that would do some water changes for you

I had a simmilar problem with my baby newts.I asked the local aquatic center if they could look after them (for all those who don't already know baby newts need constant water changes) and they were very helpful.I came back from my 2 week holiday all of my newts more or less alive (one went canibal and ate three others) and the fee was only a small food budget.I hope this helped
