Fish identification

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place but can anyone identify this fish? They range from about 8-10inches long

It’s not a gourami it’s some kind of barb but not sure if the species. There is a three spot barb but it’s much smaller that this.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried Googling, the Gourami fins look a different shape. Barb seems to be a good suggestion, will have another google see if I can see anything similar ?

it kinda reminds me of the African butterfly barb but like 8 times larger

The fish in the photos remind me of hampalas (a type of barb) but those have red fins

The Three Spot Gourami (Blue Gourami) doesn't have an adipose fin which the fish in the picture has. No Barbs have that either. Some oddball Central American tetra ?

Where were those fish photographed?
If they are in the wild, then they are a local species and you can look on your Department of Fisheries website or look for a book (A field guide to fishes of whatever country/ area) you live in.

If they are in a public aquarium, contact the aquarium and ask them.

For everyone else, they are not gouramis.
