Hello, I am brand new to this forum. I bought a 55 gallon tank with three clowm loaches and one "other". Looking at books I think it's either a red devil or a red chromide. What characeristics could I use to tell which fish it is?

Thank you

JG

First, size...

Red Devils can get up to 25cm, while Orange Chromide's only 10cm. Second, did you buy it from a section in your LFS where they keep Ciclids? Cause the Devil is a Ciclid and teh Chormide is not.

Better yet, check out these links ;)

Thanks, they were included when I bought the tank from a friend. She was not quite sure what they were.... thanks for the links I will look into them.
