hello all ..... .........i'm starting a new tank a 55 gal one with african cichlids in it.i wanted to know if i could put some kind of bottom cleaner in like a pleco or ghost shrimps. or am I asking for trouble by putting these in with cichlids . need your help with this asap........thank u in advance the petkeeper2

The Pleco should be fine if you get a medium to large one, the shrimp would be as good as eaten..

you totally should get some Synodontis multipunctatus. Great little bottom catfish... very amusing fish. You can keep like 4 or 5 in a 55 gallon tank.

Plecos would be fine but they attach themselves to the wall most of the time.

hi all .......

another ??? for guys to answer for me.i'm going to add my cichlids in today about 20 should i put the bio-spira in before i put them or at the same time. i have 3.oz of bio-spira for my tank "that dose about 90 gals of water i think. let me know what you think ok thanks alot ...............petkeeper2

put the bio spira in just before you go get your cichlids. It doesn't realy matter when you put it in but it might be stressful for the fish when they've just been brought home to have more new things put in the unfamiliar environment.
