hi all, have kept tropical fish for about 3 months now. wen 1st set tank up i was given wrong info which led to disaster...... to cut long stpry short i have manged to re-home all my fish and am gona start again!

i have a juwel rekord 96 that holds 96ltrs what can i put in to set up community tank? also am gonna start whole thing again so how do i go about cycling tank??? cheers all

Are you going to do a fishless cycle? There's a great pinned article in this section.

After your tank is cycled, angels would be nice - although they get pretty big so you wouldn't be able to have many other fish in your tank...

What other fish do you like?

wanna do fishless cycle but never done that before might jus stick with normal cycle! wanna community set up but i like lots of different colours..... the only fish i aint keen on are live-bearers

Is the filter still running on the tank by any chance?

do a fishless cycle.Then think about fish.I dont think the tank is that big but do you know how many gallons it is?
angelfish need a tank of 30gallons plus,start the cycle then think about fish

Hi Laura,

Yor tank is 21 imperial gallons or 25 US gallons so stick with the smaller types of fish and you can have more in the tank.

If your filter is still running and your current fish are healthy you won't need to re- cycle the tank, just re stock it straight away.

In that size tank i personally would put a group of corys and a couple of fan shrimp for the bottom, a trio of otocinclus for cleanup, a group of marbled hatchet fish, for movement at the top of the tank and a group of tetras for the middle, i would go for cardinals or rummy nose but any tetra that grows around 2 inches will be fine.
