Wal-mart have a repuation as bad fish places. Best thing you can do is go with your friend to check the place out BEFORE buying any fish. Try and go to a few places that supply fish and then choose the one that (in your opinion) has the healthiest fish, cleanest tanks and the better staff.
Buy fish from the Wal-Mart Where my dad works he works in the pet section and keeps the fish tanks clean if not cleaner then my tanks and no dead fish either! + He orders some cool fish
my walmart has a person that does a good job keeping the tanks up, I do rarely buy from there though, but I have been known to , I think the majority of wal marts are the worse places to buy them.
I dont buy walmart fish...because the ones that are in the milton/pensacola (FL) area are so nasty and most of the fish die within a couple days It just makes me sick to see the fish in such poor conditions....couple weeks ago, we went to get some fish food and they had brown paper bags taped to the aquariums (ALL OF THEM!) where no one could see the fish, of course, I looked in there All the fish were dead and the ones they werent, were dying. It was so sad...They dont take care of their fish...it makes me so mad
I am in Richmond, VA tanks are dirty and now that I think about it, I have never actually seen someone buying fish from there. Actually, I have never even seen someone cleaning, feeding, or looking at the tanks, who work for walmart!
I dont even see anyone close to section unless they are stocking dog food! You can get a good deal on water treatments, bubble walls, and fish food! THATS IT!
No live fish should be purchased from there, unless you want to have mercy on them and purchase them toset them free!
our walmart doesn't usually do an outstanding job, but if you get fish the first day they are delivered, you won't usually have a problem. if you call the store beforehand most of the time they will tell you when they are getting a new shipment. that's where i got my betta and he was happy and healthy and very active, but again prolly only because he had only been in the store a max of six hours.
depends on every walmart, but most of the time they arent well taken care of. I got both my female bettas there when they were very young and they are very healthy now. If they look healthy i say get them if not then dont risk it.
