i have a 4ft 75g tank which, atm, is home to 2 pictus cats, and 1 bala and will soon b planted with some amazon swords

wot other small/medium fish can i add to the tank to make a beutiful/colorful community? mostly lookin for medium/top level swimmers... :hey:

i need a list (forget about stocking size for the tank for the time being, just list fishies for me ><) :dunno:

i like clean/bright looking shoaling fish

well good choice on the bala sharks. i have 5 in my 55 gallon. we also have dojo loachs, cory cats, a whip tail catfish, a "twig fish", and my favorite, an african butterfly fish. He is strickly top dweller and crickets seem to be his favorite thing to eat. Hes very peaceflul til food is dropped in. He then goes into an eating frenzy.( chasing crickets all over). check them out.....

Dont get the bala shark because they get to 14 inches, need to be in groups of 3 and need a larger aquarium, like 120 gallons. Get some cichlids, maybe some firemouths, and maybe a larger schooling fish, because anything under 3 inches the pituc will eat.

If you already have one bala shark, you might as well get another 2 so that it will be in a school and feel more comfortable.

P.T.

yes, i already do have the bala shark(2inch), there was 2, but the others died of ICH , (ICH + it jumped up and smashed its head onto the covering glass, it was swimming upsidedown as it seemed dazed but the other survived).
the pictus are both 2inch also

what are some large schooling fishies?

Neons, rummynose and danios will be pretty expensive feeder fish for those pictus...

hey guys...sorry i havent been on the forums lately, but i had bought a school of congo tetras. as i researched, they are a hardy and beautiful fish and my cousin was just in love with its colours.
although there is one thing i dont exactly know, how long does the congo tetras take to develop their ful colors, cos mine just look plain silver with a hint of bright orange?
also my 2x pictus have been lazy lately, they just laze around their cave i had made. they barely eat as much as they used to also. is there a problem??

for now i gtg, ill b back later :p
I had a pal who had a great big shoal of broken heart tetras and a big shoal of rummy nosed tetra and about 6 rams in his 50G it was stunning, seeing rams in a group is something else
Rams school?

pictus will eat any small tetra mabe try a type of chiclid?

angels?
my friend keeps cons with his

Danios are definatly a good choice. They are flashy and very active. However, Congo Tetras are also a good choice. I personally however like Diamond Tetra's better. As for their color, feed them good quality frozen food and it usually brings their color out. I cant tell you how long it will take cause all fish are different, but probably a few weeks.

Dont worry about the pictus, it takes a while for them to feel safe, thats why its better to get a bigger group. Just as a footnote,it isnt the true Pim that attacks smaller fish so much as the white striped Pim, they are differentiated by a break in the pattern on the lateral line, most LFS sell these as "Pictus", I have kept true pictus with smaller cyprinids for years and never had a problem
