Greetings to all I am kinda new here ive lurked here from time to time.
My question is cheaper fish food. This topic came up on the pond forum. And it seems fruitloops won I have been feeding all my tropicals with fruitloops with no adverse affects for the last month or so. I still put regular food in just not as much. I have sevrums clown loaches A LOT of sword tails and of course guppies And of course a lot of goldfish. Could it be breakfast cerial might be just as good as high dollar fish food?TIA

I've never heard of anyone feeding their fish breakfast cereal, and I certainly wouldn't ever recommend it. Cereals like Fruit Loops are high in sugar and other "people" things. If you look at the ingredients on fish food you'll see things like shrimp, fish meal, etc... stuff that is natural and would probably be part of a wild fish's diet. If your fish isn't getting these things, I don't think their health will be stable over a long period of time. They're probably getting not enough protein, along with other major parts of their diet.

Totally agree a human couldn't live on fruit loops alone let alone fish, I tried to give my fish as varied a diet as possible alternate between flake and frozen foods.
