Went to a LFS on saturday and noticed one of the staff was feeding very small brown/black pellets to all the tropical fish. I asked the staff member what it was and he said ' protein based food which make the fish grow bigger! ' He added that it was a good food to give as it floats down slowly compared to flake food which spends most of its time at the top!

What are your opinions guys and gals on protein based food? (sorry cant remember name of it) :thumbs:
 
They come under many names these days, the one I used to use was called Promin. (orange tub) Excellent granular foodstuff but only use as part of a varied feeding regime and do not feed this all the time.

Sounds a bit like New Life Spectrum, which is great stuff. I've gotten improved coloration and growth since I started using it. It's pretty much the standard in the cichlid keeping community these days.
