Hey all,
So it came to my attention recently that fish can eat many different types of food than just those bought from pet stores. I discovered this because I was reading up on plecos and read a couple of articles saying that they enjoy certain fresh vegetables such as lettuce or cucumber.

My question is, is this true? Do plecos eat things like this and is it good for them?

Follow up question. If this is true and fish do like other types of stuff what can/should I be feeding the following fish (they are in a community tank and all live fine so this isn't a question of stocking changes or anything purely towards their diet):

Betta
Bristlenose Pleco
Bronze Corydora
Neon Tetra
Platy
Red Cherry Shrimp (not the biggest concern as it would be near impossible to directly feed them as they pretty much always hide and have since day one, long before I put the betta in there).

Also, how often should I feed them these certain products.

At the moment their diet consists of:
TetraMin Tropical Fish Flakes (every other day)
TetraNatura Bloodworm Mix (Infrequently as a treat)
JMC Catfish Pellets (every other day)
Algae Wafers (Once a week)
Betta Bio-Gold (Once every 3 days, more if he doesn't eat much of the fish flakes)

Thanks all.
